The Manager of Cybersecurity Software Engineering will lead the development of cutting-edge security solutions, applications, and infrastructure to provide security for Surgical Vision portfolio of equipment. In this pivotal role, the candidate will oversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of software architectures that are resilient against emerging threats. The candidate will collaborate cross functionally to understand the system from both a technical perspective and the user’s viewpoint and guide the team in the design, review, development, testing, and release of the applications and infrastructure that ultimately enable surgeons on a next-generation surgical system to provide better patient outcomes. Your expertise will drive the development of secure coding practices, conduct risk assessments, and foster a culture of “secure by design” throughout the organization. As a leader, you will not only guide project execution but also mentor talented engineers, ensuring that our software solutions meet the highest standards of security and performance. Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global team of engineers dedicated to creating secure applications and infrastructure ensuring robust software security and connectivity controls.
• Contribute to the design of software architecture to facilitate future enhancements and ensure iterative delivery aligns with security standards.
• Drive process improvements and foster collaboration to enhance productivity while maintaining stringent software security for our products.
• Analyze and implement security standards, collaborating with cross-functional corporate partners to identify and integrate applicable security requirements into product software.
• Collaborate closely with specialists in clinical engineering, systems engineering, instrumentation, integration, human factors, labeling, and manufacturing, as part of a focused multi-disciplinary team to find the correct balance between security and user experience.
• Interface with other software teams, Clinical Engineering, System Engineering, Product Marketing, and Program Management to define product requirements and validate features in alignment with security protocols.
• Engage with both internal and external third-party partners from technical and business perspectives to ensure comprehensive security measures are in place.
• Support a mixed tool and platform (C++, Python, Web and Cloud Technologies) software development initiatives, actively participating in design discussions and code reviews as necessary to uphold quality and security standards.
• Identify, manage, and mitigate technical and project risks through effective coordination with R&D teams and external collaborators, ensuring project timelines and objectives are met.

Qualifiche

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree required in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems; Master’s Degree preferred

Experience and Skills

Required

• 5+ years of professional experience in product development with software cybersecurity
• 5+ years of professional experience managing global software teams
• 7+ years of professional experience developing software products
• Strong understanding software design/architecture and hardware integration
• Minimum 7 years of C++ experience
• Experience with Unit testing and software Verification and Validation processes
• Experience developing and debugging in C++, Python, C# for multi-target applications
• Proven leadership and collaboration with distributed teams
• Collaborative teammate with excellent written and in-person communication skills

Preferred

• Familiarity with FDA 2023+ Cybersecurity Guidance
• Experience in certification process such as Common Criteria (CC) or FedRAMP or similar
• 5+ years technical experience developing applications and infrastructure for embedded systems with Linux or Windows
• Proficiency with multi-threaded applications
• Experience in designing and developing API and Platform-centric solutions
• Experience working with Hardware and product bring up
• Experience with networking in a distributed system
• Experience with CMake, Jenkins, Application Lifecycle Management Tools such as JIRA etc.
• Prior experience writing Software requirement documents
• Experience working in an Agile development environment

This job posting is anticipated to close on February 27, 2025, the company may however extend this time-period.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $100,000 to $172,500. California Bay Area – The anticipated base pay range for this position is $114,000 to $197,800.

Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
